Reroofing your home with ReKote

Several functional and aesthetic benefits apply when choosing to reroof a home.
In many cases, repairing, fixing, or re-colouring an existing roof can be just as much – if not more – than the cost of undertaking a full reroof.
In addition to giving your home a new modern finish, a full reroof ensures that current or potential problems with your existing roof will be removed.
10 Steps To Reroofing:
Depending on the size of the roof, reroofing typically takes about a week to complete. There are 10 steps to the reroofing process:
1 Inspect Roof
The existing roof timbers are inspected to ensure the battens are sound.
2 Install Safety Rail
Before commencing any work, a guard rail is installed.
3 Remove Old Roof
All the old roof tiles or metal roof sheets are removed.
4 Install Sarking
The sarking is carefully unrolled across the roof.
5 Install New Battens
New battens are nailed to the rafters with a high pressure nail gun.
6 Load Up New Tiles
The new roof tiles are lifted up to the roof using an elevator belt.
7 Start Laying New Tiles
Tiles are laid sequentially up the roof from the gutter line.
8 Hip & Ridge Tiles Installed
All hip and ridge lines are covered with ridge fittings.
9 Pointing
Pointing covers the mortar in a colour that matches the roof tile.
10 Finish
Guard rail is removed and the site cleaned up.

Reroofing FAQs
What is reroofing?
Reroofing is the complete removal and replacement of your existing roof covering — tiles, sarking and battens — with new quality materials, providing both structural renewal and a visual refresh.
Is reroofing better value than repairing an old roof?
Where a roof is significantly aged, reroofing can be equivalent in cost to ongoing repairs while delivering far better long-term value. ReKote can assess your roof and provide a free quote comparing both options.
How long does reroofing take?
A reroof typically takes about a week from start to finish, depending on the size and pitch of the roof and the weather. ReKote will confirm the timeframe for your home as part of your free quote.
